Strategy Consulting
Structured analysis of one business decision, delivered as a written recommendation you can put in front of a board.
Most strategy work fails at the first step rather than the last. A question worth paying for is one where a different answer leads to a different decision — and agreeing on that question is the part of the engagement we take most seriously.
We work on single decisions with a deadline: whether to enter a market, whether a partner is the right one, whether a cost structure survives the next two years. The output is a position, not a survey. If the evidence does not support a recommendation, we say so and explain what would have to be true.
Where the question turns on knowledge that is not published, we bring in independent experts through our own network and record what they said.
What you receive
- A written recommendation stating what we advise, on what evidence, and what would change our view
- The analysis behind it — the model, the sources and the assumptions, itemised
- A presentation of the findings to the people who will act on them
- The interview record, where primary research formed part of the work
Engagement and fees
- Fixed fee per project, quoted from the agreed framing
- Daily rate, where the scope is expected to move
- Monthly retainer for an agreed capacity
How we work
Framing
We agree the decision the work supports and the question that decides it. An engagement framed as "help us think about Asia" produces a document nobody can act on.
Evidence
Desk research, internal data you provide, and interviews with independent experts where published sources cannot answer the question.
Analysis
Options are built and tested against the criteria agreed at framing, with the assumptions behind each one written down rather than buried.
Recommendation
A stated position, the reasoning, and the conditions under which we would advise differently. We do not deliver a list of options and leave the choice to you.
