Custom software built to a written specification, from first scope to a deployed and documented product.
Most software projects fail on the specification, not on the code. We write down what the system must do, what it must not do and how acceptance will be judged before anything is built, because that document is what everyone argues about later — and it is cheaper to argue about it first.
Delivery is in milestones you can open in a browser. A milestone that can only be described in a status report has not been delivered.
Everything transfers at handover: source, infrastructure configuration and the documentation needed to run and change the system. Intellectual property in the result belongs to the client on payment, and we do not reuse client code in other engagements or publish it as reference work.
What you receive
- Working software deployed to an environment you control
- Source code and infrastructure configuration, transferred in full
- Technical documentation covering architecture, deployment and operation
- A written acceptance record for each delivered milestone
Engagement and fees
- Fixed fee per milestone, quoted from the agreed specification
- Daily rate, where scope is expected to change during the engagement
- Monthly retainer for an agreed capacity
How we work
Specification
We write down what the system must do, what it must not do, and how we will know it works. Nothing is built against a verbal brief.
Architecture
Technology choices, data model and integration points are agreed before implementation, together with what they will cost to run.
Build
Delivered in milestones you can review. Each milestone is demonstrable on a real environment rather than described in a status report.
Handover
Code, infrastructure and documentation transfer to you. Intellectual property in the result belongs to the client on payment.
