Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what happens to it. The short version: the site collects nothing unless you write to us, and it sets no cookies at all.
1. Who is responsible
G-ON TECHNOLOGY LIMITED, a company incorporated in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, is the data user in respect of personal data collected through this site. Registration particulars and contact details appear in the footer of every page and on the Contact page.
2. Cookies
This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no advertising pixels and no third-party tracking of any kind. Nothing on these pages is loaded from a third-party server: the fonts and every other asset are served from this domain.
Because no cookies are set, no consent banner is shown and there is no cookie policy to read.
3. What we collect
Only what you type into one of the three forms on this site.
Client brief: name, company, email address, the service and industry selected, and the message.
Expert enquiry: name, email address, country, area of expertise, current or most recent role, and the message.
General contact: name, email address, and the message.
The forms accept no file attachments. We do not ask for, and cannot receive, a curriculum vitae or any document through this site.
Our web server records ordinary request logs, including IP address and the time of each request, which are used to operate the site and to limit abuse of the forms.
4. Why we collect it
To reply to your enquiry, and to carry out the correspondence that follows from it. For an expert enquiry, also to assess whether there is a suitable assignment and to send you the terms on which independent experts are engaged.
The lawful basis is the performance of, or steps preparatory to, a contract with you, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries addressed to us.
5. Who sees it
Enquiries are delivered to a corporate mailbox operated by the company and are read by the people responsible for the relevant practice.
We use a transactional email provider to deliver messages and a hosting provider to run this site. Both process data on our instructions and for no other purpose. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
6. Where it goes
The company is in Hong Kong; our providers may process data elsewhere, including in the European Union and the United States. Where data leaves the jurisdiction in which it was collected, transfers are made on terms that require an equivalent standard of protection.
7. How long we keep it
Correspondence is retained for as long as the enquiry is live and for a reasonable period afterwards for business records. Where an enquiry leads to an engagement, the records of that engagement are kept for the period required by Hong Kong company and tax law. Server logs are kept for a short period only.
8. Your rights
You may ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted where we are not required to keep it. Requests should be sent to the address on the Contact page and are answered within the period the law allows.
Where the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) applies, you have the rights of access and correction it confers. Where the General Data Protection Regulation applies to our processing of your data, you have the rights it confers, including the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiries are held in a corporate mailbox with access limited to the people who need it. No database of visitors exists: this site stores nothing.
10. Children
This site is directed at businesses and professionals. It is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
11. Changes to this policy
Each version of this policy is published at its own permanent address and earlier versions remain available. Material changes take effect from the date shown on the version.
12. Contact
Questions about this policy, or a request in respect of your data, should be sent to the address on the Contact page.
